Por primera vez el Consulado de México en Orlando sirvió como casilla de votación para Orlando junto con 20 consulados mas en diferentes ciudades de Estados Unidos. Fue enorme la participación de las personas que acudieron a ejercer su derecho al voto y la verdad fue una lástima que hubiera tanta falta de coordinación de INE, Instituto encargado de organizar estas votaciones. La falta de personal, de casillas y de boletas para votar hizo que algunas personas esperaran formadas hasta 8 horas y al final no consiguieron ejercer su derecho al voto.
La alegría con la que empezó el día por la cantidad de personas que acudieron de otras ciudades, personas que estaban de vacaciones y que tomaron el día para votar terminó en gritos y molestias en todos los consulados de Estados Unidos y Europa, dejando al descubierto la mala organización de INE.
Al final de la jornada, Clara Marina Brugada Molina, de 60 años, ganó las elecciones a la jefatura de Ciudad de México, según los resultados oficiales, por lo que oficialismo mantendrá el control del gobierno de la capital mexicana.
Voting at the Mexican Consulate in Orlando
For the first time, the Mexican Consulate in Orlando served as a voting booth for Orlando along with 20 other consulates in different cities in the United States. The participation of the people who came to exercise their right to vote was enormous and the truth is it was a shame that there was such a lack of coordination from the INE, the Institute in charge of organizing these votes. The lack of personnel, voting booths and ballots meant that some people waited in line for up to 8 hours and in the end they were unable to exercise their right to vote.
