Orlando, FL – El miércoles 16 de agosto, el Alcalde de Orlando Buddy Dyer, la Comisionada del Distrito 5, Regina I. Hill, el CEO de LYNX, Tiffany Homler Hawkins, y el CEO de Beep, Joe Moye, ofrecieron a la comunidad una primicia del nuevo servicio de transporte ligero SWAN Shuttle (Shuttling with Autonomous Navigation) en la Villa Creativa en Downtown Orlando.
Este servicio de transporte autónomo brindará a los residentes, estudiantes, profesionales y visitantes viajes gratuitos a través de los vecindarios de Parramore y la Villa Creativa, lo que brindará un mayor acceso a las comodidades del centro urbano.
El shuttle es parte de un programa piloto de seis meses que comenzó el 20 de agosto y ofrecerá viajes los siete días de la semana de 10 a.m. a 2 p.m. y de 6:30 p.m. a 10:30 p.m. El shuttle SWAN tiene capacidad para ocho pasajeros y recorrerá una parte de la ruta Orange del autobús público LYMMO.
La ruta, de aproximadamente una milla, tiene cinco paradas que conectan la Estación Central de LYNX y SunRail con el campus de UCF/Valencia Downtown, el Parque Luminary Green, Electronic Arts (EA), la escuela ACE, otras empresas y residencias de Parramore y la Villa Creativa.
El programa piloto avanza los esfuerzos de preparación para el futuro de Orlando y promueve los objetivos del municipio de contar con una comunidad conectada al invertir en tecnología de punta y ofrecer soluciones de transporte sostenible que sean seguras, eficientes y respetuosas con el medio ambiente.
Además, estos esfuerzos se alinean con el Plan de Acción DTO 2.0 del municipio para mejorar los viajes al Downtown, ampliar las opciones de movilidad y promover un vecindario próspero en el centro urbano.

New autonomous shuttle in the Creative Village
Orlando, FL – On Wednesday, August 16, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 5 Commissioner Regina I. Hill, LYNX CEO Tiffany Homler Hawkins and Beep CEO Joe Moye gave the community a sneak peek of the new SWAN Shuttle (Shuttling with Autonomous Navigation) light transit service at the Creative Village in Downtown Orlando.
This autonomous transportation service will provide residents, students, professionals, and visitors with free rides through the Parramore and Creative Village neighborhoods, providing greater access to downtown amenities.
The shuttle is part of a six-month pilot program that began Aug. 20 and will offer rides seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The SWAN shuttle has capacity for eight passengers and will travel a part of the Orange route of the LYMMO public bus.
The approximately one-mile route has five stops connecting LYNX Central Station and SunRail to the UCF/Valencia Downtown campus, Luminary Green Park, Electronic Arts (EA), ACE School, other Parramore businesses and residences, and the Creative Village.
The pilot program advances Orlando’s future-ready efforts and furthers the City’s goals of a connected community by investing in cutting-edge technology and delivering sustainable transportation solutions that are safe, efficient and environmentally friendly.
In addition, these efforts align with the City’s DTO 2.0 Action Plan to improve travel to Downtown, expand mobility options, and promote a thriving downtown neighborhood.
