Orlando, FL – El Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival regresó al centro de Orlando el sábado, 27 de abril, con la participación de coloridas y alegóricas carrozas, artistas y caminantes, así como funcionarios electos locales y una delegación de Puerto Rico para celebrar las contribuciones positivas, la herencia y la cultura de nuestra comunidad puertorriqueña en el estado, la ciudad y la nación.
Este año el evento fue dedicado al pueblo de Juncos, La Ciudad del Valenciano, ubicado en la región central de la isla. Desarrollaron el tema “Compromiso cívico y responsabilidades”, que incluyó registrarse para votar, votar en las elecciones, ser voluntario en organizaciones comunitarias, servir en comités y juntas estatutarias, participar en la política gubernamental y ocupar cargos públicos.
La parada ha crecido en participación, reconocimiento y auspiciadores. La Gran Mariscal fue Betsy Franceschini, reconocida líder hispana de la Florida Central y la Madrina de la Parada fue Angelica Torres “Candy Lover” influyente en las redes sociales.
Dentro del calendario de actividades de evento se incluyó la carrera Gua’Kia 5K, el Mike Moreno Golf Tournament, y la Gala/Scholarship Award.
El espectáculo musical estuvo a cargo de Nino Segarra, Victoria Sanabria, Yomo, entre otros.
La diáspora en el Estado de la Florida se unió, sacó su bandera y demostró el orgullo de ser puertorriqueños.
Florida Puerto Rican Parade & Festival 2024
Orlando, FL – The Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival returned to downtown Orlando this past Saturday, April 27, featuring colorful and allegorical floats, artists and walkers, as well as local elected officials and a delegation from Puerto Rico to celebrate the positive contributions, heritage and culture of our Puerto Rican community in the state. the city and the nation.
This year the event was dedicated to the town of Juncos, La Ciudad del Valenciano, located in the central region of the island. They developed the theme “Civic Engagement and Responsibilities,” which included registering to vote, voting in elections, volunteering with community organizations, serving on committees and statutory boards, participating in government politics, and holding public office.
The parade has grown in participation, recognition and sponsors. The Grand Marshal was Betsy Franceschini, a well-known Hispanic leader from Central Florida and the Godmother of the Parade was Angelica Torres “Candy Lover” an influencer on social media.
The calendar activities of the event included the Gua’Kia 5K, the Mike Moreno Golf Tournament, and the Gala/Scholarship Award.
The musical show was in charge of Nino Segarra, Victoria Sanabria, Yomo, among others.
