Here Comes the Bus application and safety rules while using the school bus
Kissimmee, FL – The Osceola School District has been working with Here Comes The Bus, a school bus tracking mobile applications. This application uses emerging technology to help school bus fleets transport students with greater safety and efficiency. With it, the School District could deliver same real time vehicle tracking information to busy parents and students. Alerts notify parents when the bus is just a few blocks away. Students get to the bus on time, without the need to stand outside for extended periods of time on dark, cold winter mornings.
The Osceola School District informs that they are hard at work to make sure every student gets home safely. Please be patient as buses may be a little late when returning home. Buses may be full and adjustments may be needed. In addition to “Here Comes the Bus” the Transportation Services Department of Osceola County School District is now using the Bus Bulletin notification system to notify parents and students when there are bus delays and schedule changes.

Additionally, the School District provides some safety guidelines for parents and students when using the school bus below:
- Please arrive at your designated bus stop at least 10 minutes before the schedule pick up
- Wait for the bus at least THREE giant steps (six feet) away from the curb
- Wait for the driver to let you know it is okay to board the bus (use handrails!)
- Don’t forget to scan your id when getting on/off the bus
- NEVER walk behind a school bus! only cross the street in front of the bus: make sure the bus driver can see you, make eye contact with the bus driver, and cross only when the bus driver says it is safe to do so
- If you drop something near a school bus, let the bus driver know immediately. NEVER try to retrieve the item
