Orlado, FL – El martes 1 de octubre, la Cámara Hispana de Metro Orlando (Cámara Hispana) se enorgulleció de ser coanfitrión de los premios Osceola Stars Awards, junto con The Osceola Star Newspaper. El evento reconoció y celebró a los líderes y empresarios hispanos más destacados de Osceola y Florida Central, cuyo impulso y espíritu emprendedor sirven como una verdadera inspiración de perseverancia y logro.
Durante el evento, se presentaron cuatro categorías de premios diferentes. El premio Rising Star Award se le otorgó al restaurante homenajeado La Mexicana por su dedicación y sus invaluables contribuciones a la comunidad, enriqueciendo las vidas de los demás a través de su pasión y arte culinario. El premio Business Star Award se le otorgó a Osceola Speed Tires, reconocida como una parte vital de la comunidad por su excepcional servicio al cliente y su compromiso con el trabajo en equipo familiar, la resiliencia y la dedicación. El premio Community Star Award honró a Olga González, alcaldesa de la ciudad de Kissimmee, quien es ampliamente reconocida por su espíritu altruista y sus esfuerzos por servir a la comunidad, especialmente en tiempos de necesidad. Por último, el premio All Star Award fue otorgado a Don Fisher, administrador del condado de Osceola, por su compromiso inquebrantable con el servicio público, ejemplificando integridad, innovación y liderazgo en la administración pública.
“Con más del 50 por ciento de la población del condado de Osceola identificándose como hispana, nuestro compromiso de fomentar el crecimiento y el éxito de las empresas en el área es más fuerte que nunca. Los homenajeados de los premios Osceola Stars Awards 2024 ejemplifican la excelencia y el crecimiento, liderando el camino e inspirando a otros dentro de nuestra comunidad”, dijo Pedro Turushina, presidente y director ejecutivo de la Cámara Hispana de Metro Orlando.
El almuerzo de los premios Osceola Stars Awards fue un éxito notable, al que asistieron alrededor de 200 invitados y que contó con el apoyo de 20 funcionarios electos. Entre los distinguidos participantes se encontraban el congresista Darren Soto, quien pronunció las palabras de apertura; Pedro Turushina, presidente y director ejecutivo de la Cámara Hispana de Metro Orlando; Elisha González, presidente de la Junta Ejecutiva de la Cámara Hispana de Metro Orlando; Yanin Hansen, presidenta y directora ejecutiva de The Osceola Star Newspaper; y el Dr. James Michael Burkette, presidente de Florida Technical College-NUC University.

Recognizing Excellence: Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando and The Osceola Star Newspaper Celebrate Top Business and Community Leaders
Orlando, FL – On Tuesday, October 1st, The Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando (Hispanic Chamber) proudly co-hosted the Osceola Stars Awards, alongside The Osceola Star Newspaper. The event recognized and celebrated Osceola and Central Florida’s most outstanding Hispanic business and leaders, whose drive and entrepreneurial spirit serve as a true inspiration of perseverance and achievement.
During the event, four different awards categories were presented. The Rising Star Award was given to the honoree La Mexicana Restaurant for their dedication and invaluable contributions to the community enriching the lives of others through their passion and culinary artistry. The Business Star Award went to Osceola Speed Tires recognized as a vital part of the community for their exceptional customer service care and commitment to family teamwork, resilience and dedication. The Community Star Award honored Olga Gonzalez, Mayor of the City of Kissimmee, who is widely regarded for her altruistic spirit and efforts to serve the community, especially in times of need. Lastly, the All Star Award was presented to Don Fisher, Osceola County Manager, for his unwavering commitment to public service, exemplifying integrity, innovation and leadership in public administration.

The Osceola Stars Awards luncheon was a remarkable success, attended by around 200 guests and supported by 20 elected officials. Among the distinguished participants were Congressman Darren Soto who delivered opening remarks, Pedro Turushina, President and CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando, Elisha Gonzalez, Chair of the Hispanic Chamber or Metro Orlando Executive Board of Directors, Yanin Hansen, President and CEO of The Osceola Star Newspaper, and Dr. James Michael Burkette, President of Florida Technical College-NUC University.
